"This society won't accept us. We form our own. The humans have played their hand, now we get ready to play ours. Who's with me?"
Michael Fassbender as Erik Lehnsherr in X-Men: First Class
----------

I've been wanting to draw this for a while now. I loved this movie. There were a ton of things I loved about it, but Fassbender was at the top. Can't wait to see what 'Days of Future Past' brings...

Great work, as always! I really like the contrast between background and Erik (his face is very detailed and the background is smudged). I also like how you could manage to make his helm look realistic (I find it very difficult to do, especially when it's all in grey tones).
I'm a little bit emotional about this piece since I know that you started drawing Kent and had to plan your commission work and didn't find any time to actually draw just for yourself, so it makes me really happy to see this drawing  It's also special since we both could manage to draw almost at exact time :D

Thank you, thank you. :) I like how that turned out too. I used the blending pencil a lot more on the b.g. than I normally do. Perhaps I shall keep doing that, though the background was a lot further away in this one than in others... the helmet was kind of a refreshing thing to do, I havent worked in grey tones very much. I've thought about doing a black & white drawing just using grey tone colored pencils. Perhaps I shall move that up on my 'to do' list...
Thanx, yeah it actually worked out nice that I was able to squeeze this piece in. I havent been able to find a large enough piece of paper to do the size that the person wants the commission to be in. Everything I find is at most 22x28 inches and they want 24x36. If Im lucky I might be able to squeeze another personal piece in before I find the right size. :)

Yeah, that is pretty cool that we were both able to do that after having a dry spell. We're Comrades in Arts haha. (that was cheesy...)

;)

I think you definitely should do a black&white piece with grey colored pencils, I know it would look awesome! Also, it would be something different, so it would be a fun thing to do (I think). At leas I find doing something different good, I've found my passion again thanks to drawing commission works (they're different from what I usually do for myself).
Good luck finding the right size paper! :) :giggle: Comrades in Arts.. That's actually pretty well said, I like it! :)

Yes I agree, I should. And different is usually fun. :) Now to just find the right piece to do...

Glad you found your passion again. :)
